Rider Meeting Minutes

10/07/06

HPMA business is as follows-

A word from Pat Clifton-VP/Referee- All riders and spectators are to remain behind the yellow tape barrier on race day. The yellow tape is there for a reason. If you are not a flagger, track personnel, or HPMA official stay off of the race track!

Due to severe violations of pit riding during the 2006 race season pit bikes are no longer allowed. Riders are allowed to ride their race bikes to and from motos only in put put mode.

All HPMA sanctioned race tracks will have mandatory 40 man starting gates and separate mandatory 20 man pee wee track starting gates.

Womens class business-

Lengthy discussion was held in regards to the womens class. After consulting with National Race Circuit representatives and much consideration it was decided to eliminate the pro payout status of the womens class due to eligibility requirements. As with any other payout class if you receive a pay out (with the exception of Vet Riders and +40 riders) your amateur status is revoked making you ineligible for B and C classes.  Effective 2007 race season the womens class will be a trophy class only. The class will be divided into two classes; Womens B and Womens C classes. The HPMA scoring and move up committee will determine which girls will be eligible for both the B and C classes at the beginning of the 07 season. You will be required to have the proper backgrounds (B class- black numbers on a yellow background and C class- white numbers on a black background). Womens racing order on race schedule has changed. Women will race after Supermini class to allow them a longer break between the other classes in which they may enter. You will have a staggered gate. If you plan to race in more than one class you will have to choose which class you want to practice with. You are only allowed one practice unless you run both 85 and 125 classes. You will receive marks from C to B just as any other class. Please refer to your HPMA rule books for advancement and mark-up information. If you have any questions please contact Steve Habeck (307)752-0391

Peewee track business-

Chuck King has been elected as Pee Wee track Eligibility Coordinator.

Mini classes will stay on the pee wee track.

If you race on the pee wee track you are not allowed to race on the big track. The same said for riders who race the big track are not allowed to race on the pee wee track.

Effective 2007 race season HPMA is returning the Mini Non-comp class back to what it was originally designed for. Mini air cooled only bikes, non comp class.Mini non-comp class 7-9 will no longer be a pee wee class. The mini non-comp class will compete on the big track and will be staggered with Pee wee A class and Mini non comp 10-12. Eligibility will be determined at the beginning of the 2007 race season. Effective age continues to be January 1st of current HPMA race season. Please call Steve Habeck if you have any questions.

Big wheel business-

Big wheels will be allowed in 80 classes for 2007 season only. As of 2008 race season they will be allowed in ONLY the Supermini class.

Schoolboy class business-

125 Schoolboy class will remain the same. 19 and 21 inch wheels. 250F or 125cc only.

Notice: No rider between the age of 12 and 15 can be forced into the A class unless they personally chose to do so irregardless of how many mark-out points they have.  H.P.M.A will be following the N.M.A and A.MA. rule that states that when a rider gates or stages on a pay-out class they may lose their eligibility to remain as an amateur rider.

150 ruling-

CRF 150R’s will be illegal in all 85 classes for the 07 season as is with N.M.A. and AMA rulings.  They will not be allowed in Schoolboy either.  It will however be a legal Super Mini Bike.  If there is enough support H.P.M.A. may create a CRF 150R class it would be an open skill level with no A, B, or C divisions.  H.P.M.A. will need to have at least 12 racers interested in the class to create one.  If your are interested in the class or have any questions about the ruling of the NMA or AMA rulings please contact Pat Clifton at (307) 321-2954 we will need to know how many of you are going to race it or we will not create a class it is up to you to show support for it.
